My xr6.....some easy mods to start with?
So...I got my P's about 6 months ago and have inherited my parents car, it's an ED XR6 wagon.
122,000kms, my parents have owned it since brand new and it was used as a family holiday car, driven only as a secondary maybe once or twice a week and holidays, and being a family car has never been thrashed in its life, so it still feels really nice to drive.
I've done a couple things to it already...installed some speakers, new headunit and a subwoofer myself. This was more work than I thought, never knew you had to drill through the firewall to get the amp connected to battery, or that I had to drill a grounding spot as well..
I also opened up and cleaned the ISC as I was getting a dodgy idle for a while, seems to be fine now.
What can be done at home by me, considering I have little experience with cars? In other words, fairly easy, fairly cheap, small things I can do just to learn more about my way around the engine before moving to bigger things?
edit: Is there any way to increase fuel efficiency? If I drive heavy-footed I can almost see the fuel needle going down :( In dad's car he has this 'Apexi Super-Air-Flow converter' which he swears gives him better fuel efficiency, is there anything like this for an xr6? Dad drives a massively riced lancer by the way heh
