Hey all,

Today we had our Dyno Day for South Australian club members and some non members, and I put the ole barge up on the dyno and I was VERY suprised at the output, I was grinning from ear to ear with my result (Ask MrBrock) heh. Not to rub it in to anyone that was there, but to compare my result to results of a couple of other vehicles that were there since Dynos are all different, this is how I went..

-NA Fairlane 4.0 I6, 2.5 cat back single muffler exhaust, K&N Filter and XH snorkle - 108rwkW
-EA Brock Falcon 3.9 I6 , i think from memory it is pretty much stock standard as far as the Brock features (headers, exhaust, cam and intake) do correct me if im wrong MrBrock. - 99rwkW
-EF Fairmont 5.0 V8, stock standard - 117rwkW
-EF Fairmont 4.0 I6, stock standard - 97rwkW

So with that comparison, I think the ole barge isnt doing too badly, but I will say that when MrBrock did his second run with the airbox lid and filter off it did make 109rwkW. But still, a consistent 108kW from both runs, and the second one I took the airfilter (K&N) and the airbox lid off and it actually ran .2kW less than with the filter and lid on!! Goes to show how good K&N filters are, and I think now that MrBrock is going to go off and get himself one, because he gained 10rwkW on removing the airfilter and airbox lid!!!

I would attach the dyno print out, but its waaaaaaaaay too big for here. haha

Mines a 3spd auto!!!!.

Brockys is a 5spd manual

The other two guys i compared to had 4spd autos. im in the process of uploading the piccys from it, there was a BA XR6 ute there that they put on the dyno that did 270+ rwkW!! it was insane

well done mightyna. I have a Brock falcon as well with crow stage 3 cam & chip torque chip & pulled a 127rwkw.......mine is a 5 spd with 3.45 diff.........................but i know that every dyno is different,I wouldn't mine putting it on the same dyno but it is a bit had as i live in w.a.

congrats mate on a decent turn out. Sorry I couldn't make it, I did have plans that whole weekend.
My car currently has a 65mm throttle body, pacemaker extractors and 2 1/2 in exhaust and cold air like trev's car. I'm hoping to pull around 115rwkw when i put it on the next dyno shootout u guys organise. I reckon by that time I should have a Edelbrock upper and lower intake manifold bolted on too which apparantly will add an extra 32kw at the flywheel. he he
We'll see what happens though.

Hey there NA, what type of K&N filter do you have (panel or pod), and did the brock Falcon have an airbox?

I was running a K&N Panel filter and an XH intake snorkel on my standard airbox

MrBrock was running a paper filter and a standard EA intake snorkel with the standard EA airbox

The intake on the Brock is the same as anyother EA from what I saw.
