Question Need help/advice installing SS Ind. computer cover

I popped the bonnet today to have a look before I fitted the cover and ran into an obstacle. When I placed the unit over the computer I found that something was in the way.

I have a MkII and I was wondering if they changed something around from the MK1 because if you look at this picture from someone who has fitted one to theirs it isn't attatched to the side of the computer housing

I had a look at removing this thing, but it seems to be attatched quite firmly & I didn't want to risk breaking it. Can it be moved at all?

Can anyone help me out here or do I just need to take a hacksaw to the SS cover to make it fit.
