Re: Need some low cost power tips.

Look at the cars that have decent power figures and you'll find short of forced induction you won't see 200rwkw.

Sphell - I think had 146rwkw before the twin turbo.
Rollin - 147rwkw with a large list of substantial mods.
Soxx - 173rwkw with basically a JMM Dev5 kit.

These are from memory so sorry guys if I got it wrong :-)

Either way far more than $1200 was spent on these engines. Just for comparison a Jim Mock Motorsport DEV5 kit is somewhere around $5-6k for 175rwkw.

You'll find that a few thousand dollars will need to be shelled out to massage the Windsor to 200rwkw too..

Well I'll have to work harder then! I can use a message my self. e-Bay has got a few V8's time to time at good prices. So i'll be checking them out.

Any info on a six mods for more grunt for my EB 4ltr would be great.

Re: Need some low cost power tips.

In street commodore mags (my bro has 'em, so put down your flame-torches), the GTS HSV 300's was claimed put out roughly 190-210 at the bags (depending on the dyno). They have 300kw at the motor (claimed output), so you're in turbo or blower territory if you wanna get that sorta power.
Despite these setback's you may see from others' posts, good luck to you, at least you have aspirations of having a kickass car! Realise though that hp = $$$.

Oh, and i've only ever seen one car keep up with a bike (600cc GSX-R). Was a yellow four-door HQ (10-sec?) drag car at Easternats (1999 maybe). It beat the bike by a length over 1/4 mile, and then grenaded the engine. Unless your talkin 750cc CB honda or something then there may be truth to you're tales.............Just as a reference, my 125cc two-stroke enduro dirt-bike took about <4 seconds to 100km/h on gravel. Unless your car was a Valiant shell over a ferrari enzo driveline, you probably didn't win. /end flame

Money is not really an issue, just that the current EB 2 I drive now is a Family car so I don’t want to scare my kid. I’m willing to spend up to $45,000 on my XW soon to be restored I certainly hope it’s enough???. It’s very sentimental to me this car.
