I've been thinking about sourcing some damaged EF/EL bumpes, specifically an EF GLi bumper and a EF/EL Fairmont bumper.
i'm looking at basically making a combined version of the 2 bumpers by cutting them both and joining them together.
i'm trying to decide what looks better, the lower half of the EF GLi bumper, or the lower half of the EF Fairmont bumper.
EF GLi
EF Fairmont

I'd go the Fairmont's only because you can put in those cornering lamps. If you're not gonna put in those lamps then I wouldn't bother, I think that extra plastic strip through the bumper is pointless.

Alex
yeah, i agree to alex on that one, i'd do it only if you are going to add the lamps
the only other time i'd do it if u arent gonna add the lamps is if you paint the bar and the grilles a different colour, maybe silver
funnily enough i'm interested in doing this too - and yes its so i can add the corner lights! there's no aftermarket lights that will fully fill the EF brake ducts, and the fairmont ones look cleaner and better fitted.
Is it possible to actually do the swap though? I thought putting the fairmont lower bumper on would mean a whole new front end?
i'd prolly put the fairlane lamps on it.
but i was lookin at basically cutting the 2 bumpers and joining them behind the black trim strip that runs around it.
once its joined up you could cover it with the striping and number plate so it wouldn't be that visable.
