As I am approaching the end of my lease term, I'm looking for a replacement for my current Falcon. Currently running an AUII SR, and I don't want to be caught out by either a) A new model being released just after I receive mine, or
b) The waiting list evident at the moment for some models.
I am looking at either XR6 or teh XR6T primarily. Does anyone have any good gen on the release of the updated Falcon rumoured to be this year, the range offered, etc?

highly doubtful that anyone does, and if they do its likely they're just having a stab at it and going off no reliable info. General consensus is that BAII will be released in third quarter of 04 though.

If you dont want to wait, XR6T and possibly XR8 may be out of the question. Depends on what your dealer can get you/has in stock already.

BAII will be anywhere between Sept 04 and Mar 05...my Ford contacts are being too bloody cagey which is very unlike them!

May 04 earliest. Ford are trying to bring the BA2 out before the VZ in AUG/SEPT

Won't happen by May! Ford are mid launch of the Territory and Fiesta launch is just about over. There is also the Escape 4cyl coming out but that won't attract a lot of attention.

BA2 will be August '04 at the earlest. Jan '05 at the latest.

45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...

Late August, early September.

Dont ask any questions on where my information is from, but thats when its happening. The TS Territory is also coming at the sametime.

Dont expect too many changes! Wheels, sunglasses holder, alloy pedals on XR models (Optional), new grills, new headlights and maybe a few other cosmetic changes. May also receive a Series II badge, but Ford rarely does that.

XT will get full power windows and cruise control.

Futura will get reverse parking sensors and side airbags (to try and take on the Acclaim)

XR6 NA will get full power windows and side airbags.

XR6 T will get side airbags.

XR8 will get side airbags and six stacker (Prestige) standard.

Fairmont - nothing.

Fairmont Ghia - Foglamps

Basically the changes will only be based on Equipment level.
