well i just got thinking yesterday- since the ed's panels and paint arent the best they can be atm i was thinking about doing a spray job myself, now i'm faced with the decision of colour

the engine bay is gonna be done in a flat black colour to match newer engine bays

i just dont know what colour would suit the actual car?

ive been looking at the recent BA colour sheet and there are a few i like
mercury silver
blue pearl
phantom
envi
mandarin

i like envi and mandarin to stand out from the crowd, but are there any that you think might suit it?
after i get a few recomendations i like i'll let the photosop forum have a go at it

Hmmm, if it were me i wouldnt go for Mandarin, i reckon it'd make the car show its age more to be honest.

Phantom could look good with some nice rims?Have to be a pretty good spray job to get it right though i think, not sure.

tommi, you do realise theres more to spraypainting a car than just slaping on some colour......... there is a reason why car painters take a 3 (sometimes 4) year apprenticeship, and tackling a colour change is one of the hardest thnigs so do straight up.....

that said, if you think you'd be able to pull it off, go for it.

Gotta Agree with Wayne,
Spray painting a car is something that takes alot of skill. the first car i painted was a XE and painted it black, had to be the worst job ever!

You get better over time but those colours are colours that would require a large amount of experience and skill.

nah i recon i can pull it off as i done the rear 1/4 panels on the ea and they looked as good as anything after my rust/ dent repairs

Paint the sucker blood orange, with a gloss black bonnet and some huge chrome rims (Simmons, FR19's)

Painting a whole car including colour change yourself is going to suck. But have fun all the same!

why not mercury? that's what i was leaning toward doing anyway
but i might wonna get a chop of blood orange(without the gloss black bonnet) to see how it looks
