biggrin New Throttle Cable, more power!

Well after doing my CPFI to MPFI conversion about 2 months ago i was pretty happy with the performance upgrade. My mpi throttle cable I got for the conversion was a bit strecthed and the outer casing was broken just near where it goes over the rocker cover. Anyway I had to bend the bracket up about a inch to get wide open throttle. I got a new one from ford the other day, installed it, bent the bracket back to 90 degrees and then took the car for a drive. Holy crap it has made so much difference I have gained so much more power and throttle response now it is unbeleivable. For all those guys out there with suspect throttle cables, shell out $60 you won't regret it, money well spent I reckon.

Cheers Luke.

Re: New Throttle Cable, more power!

Yep I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. The car went from being an unbelivable slug to a reasonable performer over 40 km/h.

Mines a bit suss too, I might change it and see if I can get that enlarged throttle body to suck in some more air!

I didn't think mine was so bad before I changed it to a new one. Let's just say wheelspin in to 3rd in the wet

Re: New Throttle Cable, more power!

It's well worth doing, although I noticed more of a difference when the car was cfi.

Re: New Throttle Cable, more power!

TIKFD6 have you read about the motor 'The Goodz' is actually running in his car, I think a larger throttle body would do something :0)

Yeah I shimmed my cable with a couple of washers for now, how much is a new one anyways.
