I was talking to my cousin the other day and we were discusing the price of insurance and he was telling me how NRMA give him a 10% discount because he has a star trac or quick trac alarm on his clubsport R8. I rang them saying that iam about to purchase a GT Falcon and their reply was that they dont discount on FORDS!

Does that mean that they don't just discount on Fords or all cars other than HSV?

Apparently HSV's and WRX's have such a history that you need one of these to get insurance or they make it worth you while to get one.

Gotta ask the question where is the "discount" on HSV's coming from??

I suspect that HSV themselves reimburse NRMA for the "discount".

No I think the fact is that the HSV's are not secure from the factory (don't even have lock nuts for the mags) where as the Fords are almost unstealable from the factory. So Holden owners get a discount for adding extra security.
you'll probably find that the HSV vs FPV would be in fords favour on insurance prices. Fords are normally always cheaper to insure.
