Hey guys,

I need a quick second opinion...

I have oil trickling out from the point where the rocker cover meets the engine block.

My dealership 'apparently' replaced the gasket.

It did not fix the problem.

Now they are telling me it is not excessive therefore I should not be worried.

What do you folks think? Should I be pressing the issue?

To my understanding this should not happen if the cover has been fitted properly.

Did they charge you for the work?
If so it is a problem because they didn't fix it.
Plenty of engines 'weep' oil, but if you have noticable wet or dripping oil that shouldn't really be tolerated.

AS FOR AN OIL LEAK THERE SHOULD BE NONE. its part of the roadworthy check if it is dropping oil on the ground its not roadworthy if its only weeping and not falling to the ground its classed as fine hopr this helps CHEERS GREG

old fords and oil leaks go hand in hand around the rocker cover but never had a problem with a ef on

If you had work undertaken to fix this in the first place then even a drop of oil leaking is not good enough, it never left the factory that way and I would assume a repair would make it near new so I would expect nothing less. Also, I'd make sure it was noted on their service records that you mentioned a leak so that if it gets worse you have a reference date to your first notification.( a note on a service invoice is what I'd ask for)
