When you buy an after market oil pump for a EB 4L from say, Super Cheap, Auto One or Repco or something does it come with the pump body all the components of the pump and pick up screen thingo? If not what does it come with?

Is it possible to pull the sump off while the motor is in the car still
Yes my brother did it in his EF today. You have to pull the K-frame out which means the power steering rack and some suspension components need to be removed.
k frame out???? the way we usually do cars at work is to undo the engine mounts at the k frame and then jack up the engine a little, and stick a 30mm socket of a small block of wood in each side - raises the engine up enough to get the sump out with a bit of careful manouvering...
everywhere i have read reckons the stock I6 oil pump is as good as it gets, so i would just get a stock ford one...if the price os high you could always just ring repco or something and see if they stock them (i reckon they would) but i would go a factory ford one...if your oil pump dies your motor is toast!!!!

I can get new Genuine Holden/Ford/Audi/Land Rover/Honda parts cheap, PM me!
when you buy a new oil pump you get the body, the gears, the top plate, the releif valve and spring ans the bolts. im pretty sure you use your old pickup. if the body of yours is alright just get an oil pump kit where you get everything above but you use your old body and top plate and bolts. its cheaper just to get a kit as its usually just the gears which wear out. any engine reconditioning shop can order one in for you.

Just if anyone cares, sourced prices for my EL when i thought the pump could have been at fault. Original from ford was $330.00, replacement from global = $120 odd.
