What oil do you use in your BA, do you believe one type totally shites on the other type?

Synthetic. But I use the best value version because Mobil 1 is OTT on price. Shell Helix Ultra.

Still using Mobil 1, but at $67 for 5 litres in comaparison to $30 for 5 litres for Shell Helix, got to wonder why

I am using Mobil 1 0w40w as recomended on the cap.
I bought a 20L drum $236.

My understanding is that mineral oil should be used during the running in period & a good quality synthetic after that. The grade should be chosen to suit your driving style. I use 15W-60 Penrite in my ED, though when (if?....) I get my BA I'll probably switch to Castrol Magnatec after running it in. The theory behind Magnatec makes alot of sense to me.

Hey!! I saw your GT at Eastern Creek earlier this year Mark, at the V8's. I remember the DEE GT plates. Awesome car man!! I took a couple of photos.

There's not much in a BA engine thats magnetic! The only parts that are magnetic get plenty of oil anyway.

I would not buy into their advertising too much, as someone pointed out in a previous post the magnetic part can actually carry any metal particles with it, dragging them through the engine rather than letting them sink to the bottom of the sump like normal oil.

No matter what the price, nothing but Penrite synthetic. lts cheaper than an engine rebuild.

at the moment i am useing mobil s semi sythetic. i was talking to my local parts suplier he wants me to use a oil made in germany i think its called called Frushs ...
