Black EX-R6

When an older cars air con runs outa gas and needs regassing. Do they just regass it or does some more work need doing.

Not sure if a place I went to today was trying to rip me off. He said it would be about 65 bucks to regass it but being an older car would probably need modernising which would probable be about 300 odd.

If it is a system that used the old freon based gas, yes that sounds about right.
In order to convert they have to install a pressure cut out switch amongst other things. No doubt someone who knows more about air con could advise but it may be better to consider a more modern rotary compressor as well if you are running the old ford style.

86 XF got regassed a few weeks ago. it cost me $110. old gas is pushed out my new style gas then filled up. price also depends if there are problem in the system like leaks, rubbers gone bad and many other things. mine was fine just didnt have enough gas in it.
