Older V8 Falcons and emissions...

Hello everyone!

New member here and soon to be the owner of something fun... I'm researching which Falcon/Fairlane to purchase and very slowly do up as a sleeper. Of major importance is the drivetrain, naturally.

I've been reading various stories and stats on the 'net about emissions and how choked a late 1970s V8 is likely to be in order to pass emissions.

My question is, could anyone direct me to a good source of such information on the web, or perhaps speak from experience? Not being able to afford a genuine XB GT just yet, this seems like the next most stupid thing to waste some money on and I'd prefer not to have an athsmatic car...

TIA

ADR's(or their equivalent) started in the early 70's.

Easiest way around it is to rip off all pollution gear, and run it on straight LPG. No emission test required.

Oh, that's OK, then! Didn't realise that LPGing made it exempt. Problem solved, cheers! :)
