my father has a 1984 xe gl sedan. it is bahama beige with beige trim, bucket seats and floor change auto. He has owned it for nearly twenty years. it is carby 4.1, no air, no steer. it now has 134000kms. pretty immaculate, always garaged, no rust etc. would it be worth $2000 private sale with rwc?

Depends on a few factors, like how much rego, where you are located (Greater population increases your chances of selling it)...

well im trying to sell my XE fairmont 1984 170 thou k's power steer air con lowered tints (2 pac paint but its looking a little worse for wear) body is very straight and im looking for about 2 grand soo maby a little less for u machine :)

dad owned the car when i was a kid. His friend bought it in late 84 (one of the last xe's). Dad owned a Phase 5 xd and an old m-benz 220 so he didn't need a car. He bought the car with ultra low kms in mid-late 1980's. I had the 14x6jj commercial rims from new, cloth bucket seats, 4.1 and t-bar auto were the only options. Dad gave the car to my grandfather in the early nineties because he could no longer drive a manual. Granddad gave the car back when he handed in his license. it still has original ford mudflaps and interior venetian. paint is orig. Only things changed are the headlight and bonnet protecters as the old ford ones went a bit misty. She looks good (even with orig wheels) and has really been babied for so long. it is a shame to see it go.
Car was bought new in toowoomba and currently resides outside of brisbane.

I'm also a XE Falcon driver. My dad bought one for me as a learner car but mum still thinks he also bought it for himself as it was more powerful and fun to drive than the Mazda E1800 he drove. Now he can't believe he use to think it was a good drive. We've had it five years and it gets me around but isn't too flash. Mind's also beige but has the 3.3 engine and a 4sp Manual gearbox. Hopefully in a year or so I can buy something else and sell the Ford's wheels and possibly the CD player with Kenwood speakers, the rest is only good for parts.

I reackon its good for 2 grand dude. If its clean and tidy runs well, no spoke or major oil leaks the gear box doesnt leak the suspension doesnt squeak and its got no rust than you should get 2 grand no worries. Sounds like a good start for someone to hot up. Try advertising is on here www.xfalcon.com
