The petrol tank in my XB Coupe is shot so I need to find a replacement, does anyone know if any other Ford models utilise the same tank? At the moment I can guess the obvious being XA's - XC's are the same (though am wondering if XC's had more emission add ons to it, which I dont need.) but did Fairlanes, LTD's use the same tank? And what about older Falcons such as the XW, XY? I'll probably keep a look out at Bendigo swap meet but was interested to know if these other models carry the same tank.
Also does anyone know of people selling new tanks? I know GT performance stock the long range GT tanks, but I'm looking for a standard item.
Come to think of it I'm also after a set of mounting brackets (upper and lower) for a V8 radiator, were these items universally the same throughout the Ford range? Just want to increase my chances of finding the part even if it's not off a Falcon.
A fuel tank from an XA-XC will fit, as you say. So too will one from a ZF-ZH Fairlane and also the corresponding LTDs - there's no pollution gear on the actual tanks themselves, to the best of my knowledge so all are interchangeable. Shame you're in Melbourne - could sell you a tank out of one of the ZH parts cars we have stashed up on the Sunshine Coast...
i'm pretty sure i got a good condition XC sedan tank laying around if ur interested. i am pretty sure nak302 is right about the return lines, but i ain't layed my eyes on the tank in a while.
radiator brackets should be easily sourced from a wrecker. I recently got a radiator from a XE, and the brackets from a XC. all the brackets from XA to XE achieve the same goal, but mount to the chassis in different ways!

Anyone know for sure if the XC tank came with more breather/emission gear on it? Anyone with photos? If so I'd probably prefer getting a pre-emission one, though I could of course fill up/cut the extra pipes if they have 'em. Thanks for the offer Pilch, but I'll see if I can get hold of one down this end first.
I'm not so interested in a long range tank.
