Re: please post your thoughts

i seen that the other day while i was looking on the net. check it in person as this could turn out to be a very costly fix.
get underneath and make sure that the diff hasnt been pushed forward along with the tranny and motor.

Just make sure you know exactly what is wrong with it, and exactly how much it's going to cost. You wouldn't wanna make a big mistake in buying it.

I agree with the above... if it looks like an easy fix, it nearly ALWAYS won't be. My advice is, find out the repair estimate and double it. If the figures still work for you, then get it :-)

Re: please post your thoughts

insurance companies are not in a habit of writing cars off, as we all know, so the cost of replacement must be very close to the cost of fixing it, just something to think about.

thats what i was gonna say. if it wasnt gonna cost a fortune to fix then the insurance would have paid to get it fixed.
if its cheaper for the company to replace the car than to fix it then that should give you an idea on the cost of repairs

Re: please post your thoughts

yeah, but insurance companys are counting the cost of making it look exactly like new... if you could return it to a 'good enough' condition... it wouldnt cost you as much.
