Well, driving past a 4x4 at 100km/hr with a trailer on the back and having a big piece of wood offcut bounce quickly towards you is quite terrifying!
I had my grandma with me, and the offcut flew onto the bonet and then onto the windscreen (luckily it didn't shatter, or she could have been severeky hurt).
I turned around and trumped after the guy.. Luckily he stopped, and i got his details..
I got a quote this morning for the bonet (the whole bonets needs respraying..)
So hopefully, it all gets sorted quickly.. It could have been alot worse..
Pics below;
Front on shot, you can see the dent and scratches all along the dent..
For the speed it hit, i'm surprised it didn't do alot more damage.. Good old tough fords!
Hope it gets sorted quickly..
Cheers guys,
Yagz

Bugger - and i agree with you, people should secure the load in their trailers and in the back of utes. Would have been a rather scary experience for your grandmother as well. You're very lucky to get hold of the bloke - hope you get it sorted quickly and painlessly

Funnny you should mention that... Today following a trailer a FU$#%$ paving brick fell out which proceeded under the car putting a rather noticeable dent in my High Energy sump, If it was a stock unit id pretty much say Id be able to give a new term to crank scrapers.!! The hit was hard enuff to launch both tyres into the air somewhat.

damn eh....
so they can repair that bonnet?
if not... and u need a newie, i'll take ur old one off ur hands
Heh, yeah they can repair it i believe.. Luckily, the dent is in a spot where they can get to from underneath.. Not behind one of the bonet supports or anything (thankfully)
svo347, that's even worse! Was there much damage? Did ya get his details?

Damn, thats bad luck. I know a few other forum members have had their cars damaged by loose stuff from trailers, utes etc. It's not that hard to tie down your load properly!!!!!
No damage mate but Im sure ill be needing a wheel alignment.
Have checked engine mounts seem ok as well as the g/box & front suspension.
I didnt get his details as i pulled over to make sure i hadnt punctured my sump (Abit of $$ invested in engine) and the old man nearly packed his dacks.
