I have had a pollen filter in the BA XR for the last 4 months and was very surprised today when I removed it to have a look at it.

Over the last 4 months the car has just driven on local roads and a bit of highway work. The filter, on inspection, had a considerable amount of fine and very fine dust and dirt particles in the grooves. Iam pleased that it seems to be working very effectively, as otherwise all the fine dirt and dust would end up in the car.

Has anyone else fitted the filter and what are your results?

Personally for the cost it is worth putting one in - especially seeing what dirt it is stopping from entering the car

I have one and only time I have inspected it was when we first receive the car to check if it was there. It was very clean at that stage obviously.

Besides that, I have iyet to look at it, but the air is fresh and clean :)

Wonder how much replacements cost anyhow.

Since I have asthma I would replace it every year, $40 is nothing for these things.

I havent seen one of these before (havent got a BA also). Can these be cleaned rather than replaced?

I live in the north-west and its as dust as hell up here.
With a pollen filter installed i have no dust in the cab or the air vents.
