Powerchip

Hi All.
Has anyone had a powerchip fitted to their xr6t yet.
I have read about the aps chip but nothing re the powerchip.
The guys from powerchip say the gold chip will take the xr6t
to around 285 - 290kw. Would love to hear of any in the field.

Re: Powerchip

powerchip is a plug and play. It's okay if you have a stocky and just want to bump up the kws.

No good if you are planning on doing various mods that require unique tuning.

I wish all these modders will stop researching on the XR6T and start bringing some packages for the XR8! Not fair!!

Re: Powerchip

A guy in our club just took powerchip to court as the chip did nothing for his car. Despite their promise of a money back guarantee, they reduce it by handling costs, installation costs etc. He took them to court 2 weeks ago and won.

I don't think there is any more proof required that these particular chips do nothing. Unichip is the way to go.

BTW, his car was an NC Sportsman

You might like to do a search of the various forums round here (they have changed names a few times recently so it may be hard to find the thread) about this subject.

There was a lot of talk about the powerchip, and unfortunately the response was a fairly negative attitude towards it for a number of reasons (i dont remember well enough to ellaborate).

Re: Powerchip

I looked at the powerchip and spoke to them, when I rasied the issue of a eec tuner they got rather narkie, enough so I wouldn't deal with them.
