I have been hearing similair stories from a few different sources lately. To be honest I considered one for my 5.0L, but it's a "Generic" off-the-shelf chip that could be used in either my ford, or the kid down the street's 180SX Nissan.
I'm getting a UniChip fitted in the next week or two and believe, despite the extra cost, it will give me what I'm looking for, in conjunction with exhaust and airbox changes.
Alternatively, there's always the "old fashioned" route.......cam, overbore, manifolds, throttlebody, etc.
