It's just a duplication glitch on the configure and price program. Same thing applies to leather - if you specify the leather trim in the trim section it adds $1980 to the price calculated. Then if you tick the box for leather it adds another $1980! The premiun paint is any colour apart from white, red or (I think) black and costs $255. The configure program will add it in twice if you specify it in both places.
At first, when I worked out the RRP for my car, I had both duplicated and got a price that was $2235 more than it should be! Could've made the dealer's price look VERY good indeed.
Mrs Zeke got in before me and got the BEST colour (Venom) without having to pay for "premium" paint. Still, mercury silver should be OK. I just wish "lightning bolt" was avalable now as it sounds like it might be a nice colour.
Yep, it's just another way for Ford to get more $$$ out of the consumer. These colours didn't used to cost extra when BA was first released.. it's just pure greed by Ford.
I always thought that "prestiage paint" was was just another way of saying metallic paint was dearer. But to my surprise when i bought my BA in citrc acid i was charge for prestiage as well.. Sucks i think considering it's a solid colour..
I am waiting on my Blood Orange T at the moment, I too thought I would get out of the extra expense of the paint, but no. Blood Orange and Citric Acid are deemed to be Prestige Paint and the other colors with the exception of Venom and White are deemed to be Premium Paint.
Sorry sdrew, Blood Orange & Citric Acid are definitely Prestige Paints. There is no "Premium" paint option, despite what the website says.
