Just read Normell's post. What is a reasonable price for a Fairmont AU 3 V8 service, at 45000km's ? Been quoted $220>$300, this is from a large Brizvegas dealer. Mine is due next month, don't trust Ultratune, Kmart or Midas from past experience. Who is a good dealer for servicing in Brizzy? Cheers

midas suck, took it there last time it got serviced and they did a crap job, im going back to ford next time

My quote is from a Ford dealer. The others quote $100 less than my local Ford dealer. Which is why I asked the Question. Am I being ripped off? Cheers

Take it to a Ford dealer,it might cost you more but at least they know their products,i would never take any car to a Midas ,K-Mart etc for a service,but i suppose it depends on the person if they can afford it to take it to a Ford dealership.

Isn't it free for AUII and AUIII up to 60,000km's?

Our AUII fairmont wagon hasn't cost us a cent except for tyres yet...

Or was that a Victorian only thing?

$200-$250 is fair. 45,000km is the bigger service with air filter replacement and plugs if not iridiums.

The AUII free servicing deal wasn't extended to the AUIII for some reason, probably discounting by the factory to clear them for the BA.

That seems a bit weird that they dont do the free servicing on AU3, i thought all new cars had to come with some sort of warranty like that?

I know AUII is 3yrs from purchase date, or 100,000kms, whichever comes first.

I think AUII got free servicing to help sell them. And it was only to 60000km's.
I bought an AUIII and I asked about the free servicing, and was told not continued into AUIII.
