Price Quotes...

I'm just after some advice regarding some prices I have been quoted by Carline Mufflers:

2.5" Lukey Exhaust - $340
HF Cat - $320
Extractors - $480

Are these prices reasonable? I want to go with brand new parts and obviously there will be labour charged on top of that.

They do seem a little overpriced..

I got my exhaust done at Midas and I payed

$360 for pacemaker extractors
$160 for a 2 1/2" High Flow Cat
a 2 1/2" Front Muffler for $120
and a rear mandrel bent pipe with no muffler for $120

So i think maybe you should shop around a bit more to get a better price

Cheers

Re: Price Quotes...

i got a red back 2 1/2 exhaust with 2 mufflers for $500 fitted and i think that was a bit to expensive but they did a good job,any way if you want pacemakers get them from superplus.com or look in a street machine for the add, there $300 plus about $20 postage and there the cheapest place i have seen them. and the price for that high flow cats sounds about what i got quoted.so shop around for them you way be able to get them cheaper.

cheers

Re: Price Quotes...

I put my prices in your other post, but ill repeat them here

Quote:
As for extractors and exhaust most people recomend Pacemaker headers which last time i got quoted(other week) were $420fitted. My Hi-flow cat cost $200 fitted. And my 2.5" cat back cost $230.... but it was way too loud for my EF (used to be on a EA) so i forked out another $120 on a berkley muffer.
I think the prices you got are a little steep. Do a ring around.
Also check back with some shops on different days, as they forget what they told ya and quote differently-if cheaper good. If not say what they said last time and book it in/go somewhere else.

Re: Price Quotes...

Don't waste your money on a "Hi-flow" catalytic converter, I got a redback 2.5" catalytic converter for $200 (plus two flanges and 4 nuts, bolts and washers), does the same job and as the cat is the same size as the pipe there is no loss in restriction.

Jack beedhams up this way charge $190 for 2.5" steel press bent exhaust (cat back) using a Lukey straight through muffler fully installed (wagon or sedan) with a 2 year warranty. They're the cheapest prices I could find on the north/west side of Brisbane without mentioning I work for so and so otherwise I could get it cheaper again.

Re: Price Quotes...

I got a 2.5" system from the Cat back using a Lukey Exhaust. incl fitting it cost me $220 from Right Price Exhausts at Springwood. Cheapest i could find in my area and plus i knew what sort of job they do as i had my RA60 Celica done there too when i had it.
