Hi all,

This may be a common problem but it's the first time its happened to me. The height adjustable (not electric) driver's seat in my NC won't stay in the position it is set at.

It will stay there while you are sitting in it and then when you get out, the seat shoots up to maximum height with a noise that sounds like someone running a nail down a corrugated knife. (If you can imagine a sound like that).

Does anyone know what has broken at all? I must admit I haven't had time to have a close look yet, but I suppose it would be some sort of catch in the height adjustable assembly.

G'day,
remove the adjuster cover, you will find a 10mm headed bolt which is loose.

To reset the seat, you need to remove the bolt and assembly (you can do all this in car) squash the seat all the way down and refit the assembly.
A fat mate helps here!!
