Smile Question on adjusting steering box - XD Ford.

Question to any one that can assist. I have a 1981 Ford Xd factory V8, with power steering. I would like to remove some slack in the steering. With all other previous cars that I have completed this procedure the adjustment nut/locking nut in clear view. What do you adjust on these boxes? Don't seem to be able to locate anything in the 'normal' place.

(ps. all other bits eg. ball joints/tie rods/ idler/etc have been replaced)

Re: Question on adjusting steering box - XD Ford.

qik40t, xd fords have a recirculating ball type steering box - no rack & pinion.

The Gregory's automotive service book mentions the process of adjusting the box - however no mention is made as the location of the locking nut and adjuster for the power steering equipes cars.
