Rarest Falcons

To avoid completely taking over the XR6 Wagon thread, I thought I would start a list of the rarest production Falcons using the collective wisdom (?) of the forum. Might even be edumacational.

To begin with, all nominations must have run down the Ford production line, so no concept cars, show cars, etc. Edit Also let's not get into colours and options so it doesn't get completely out of hand. If you do know of rare or one-off combinations like MaD_WoG, post them!

Starting with the Falcon with the smallest production run, insert your nomination into the list below in the appropriate position. Sorry I don't have exact numbers on a couple of these - that's the reason for the thread!

Number produced
Car
1 GTHO Phase IV (only counting the production car here, the race cars didn't have HO on the compliance plates)
3 FTE TL50 T3
6-10 EB SS
72 FTE TS50 T3 manual
90 FTE TE50 T3 auto
~100 EF XR6 wagon manual
125 ED XR8 Sprint
250 AU2 (3?) XR8 Pursuit 250
265 EB GT
270 EL GT
300 GTHO Phase III
400 XC Cobra (all)
432 XY 4x4 utes
567 XR GT

There must be heaps more, eg Landaus, Squire wagons, John Goss

PS, do you think including the transmission type is fair or not?

I've always wondered exactly how many EF Futuras (Just EF Futura's not XR or GLi) there were made with a factory 5 speed manual, the actual build number that is.

I'm sure thered prbably be a few but its just been something id always wished i could find out.

Bill Bourkes XW 428 Cobra jet WAS produced by Ford Australia, it is the ONLY R-coded(428 Cobra Jet, Ram-air) four door sedan ever made by the factory, it is even stamped on the id tags. There was a write up on it last year in Performance Ford magazine
Here is a thread from last year http://www.fordforums.com/showthread.php?t=49389

Also there was only one MK1 Escort V6.
that certainly is a rare one

also there isnt many RS3100 capri's in australia. They were a bit of a weapon in their day:

Essex 3.1-litre, OHC, fuel-injected V6, 11.0:1 compression ratio, 400bhp @8000rpm. Dry sump, twin radiators, Bosch Transistor ignition

ZF 5-speed synchro gear box, Borg & Beck triple plate clutch

0-100km/h 4.2secs, 0-200km/h 13.1secs, top speed 280km/h

i know the escort and capri arent falcons (as per this thread) but theyre still a couple of rare fords

Apologies then Cam (& Shambles), I didn't realise it was factory with it's own engine code, always willing to learn something new. When you say only sedan with R engine code does that mean a ute or something else had one too? Or was the same code recycled for something else later?

Yeah no worries outback, i believe that iit was the only "R" coded sedan in the world, there was plenty of Mustangs and Torino's with the 428CJ motors in them, but no sedans.
