Ok, this may be rubbish. But a salesman at a big name used car yard was telling me on Sunday he drove a 6 speed XR8 the weekend before at an invitational test day. His words were (that aren't censored) "Ford's really got it right this time...." among other things. The interesting part was that he reckoned it'll be out as soon as May? This guy wasn't trying to sell me a car, he was actaully telling me to wait. Even though i'm now considering an xr6t.
Has this been discussed already? Or am i going to mysteriously dissapear for writing this?

Yeah, the only reason i took it sorta on board was that he wasn't trying to sell me anything. We were actually on the front sidewalk talking about my ute which was parked out front. So he wasn't talking as a car salesman, but more of a Ford enthusiast.
Come to think of it, he wasn't telling me to wait. After i said something about the release of the 6 speed might drop the value of the 5 speed he dissagreed. Seing as they're so good with the 5 speed anyway were his thoughts.

Secret test day hey? No such occurance unless his an engineer etc at Ford Aust HQ. Other than colours or something similar there will be nothing significant released in May.

The 6 speed rumours may as well be true but it would be for a series 2 upgrade rather than anything else.

A very very close friend of mine has contacts in FPV. He tells me he recently had a ruun in a 6speed Turbo and it was definitely for production (he called it BA series 2). Tells me the F6 Typhoon is not even trying, that some Turbo test mules are running V8 supercar like torque figures.
