It seems to me that the nose on the XB grille, standard, GT and GS alike; all crack in the same place. It seems to crack down a triangular piece on the inside of the nose, which I can only assume was first put there for reinforcing it. I'ts a pity that the edge of the triangle has the opposite affect to what it was designed to do. Anyway, I have a completely undamaged and unfitted black GT grille and I'm wondering if there is any way of reinforcing it around this area.

I was thinking of some wire mesh with araldite or something along those lines. Suggestions, thoughts... all appreciated!

you've got an undamaged black GT grille? i tell you what, send it up to me and i'll look after it for you so it dosn't get damaged

seriously though, for something like that i wouldn't touch it with anything. i'd go for a standard grille with the driving light rings put in by a plastic welder for everyday driving and keep your genuine one original.

Hmm... seems a shame to have a perfect grille and not use it though....

i found that the worst bit is when leaning in to do stuff on the motor or people who don't know, use the grille as a leaning post, is where the trouble starts. you just gotta be real careful with these old plastic parts.
lilMattie, i'd put it on but wouldn't do any mods to it.

keep morons away from it, like, if you have to take the car to a garage for work take your grille off the night before.
