Removing dash facia on BA

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the front of the BA dash around the ICC and Hetaer controls (without breaking things).

For the last couple of months or so I have had an annoying rattle near the CD player, which the dealer totally failed to fix even tho he said he had. But now it has it has changed and it sounds like there are a couple of screws anda metal bracket or something all rolling round back there! Every time I go round a bend or accelerate or brake hard theres a series of rolling sliding noises behind the dash.

SO i just want to open it up and have a look see if i can find whats loose. I could take it back to dealer, but htat would mean another day off the road and it they may not fix it again!

Thanks guys (and Gals).

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it, pulling it appart yourself isnt easy as you will probarly have to remove the Command Centre, and theres only a specific way of doing it.

This would be your best choice although rattles are only covered under warrenty for 3 months.

3 months for rattles? i thought this would have been covered under the general warranty term.

Re: Removing dash facia on BA

Im pretty sure that if you took it back to a Ford dealer they would fix it under warranty,it's a big job removing the whole dash,i had mine replaced due to bubbles in the dash it took them 2 days though and they did a great job on it without any rattles at all.
Cheers John

Re: Removing dash facia on BA

I've done some listening and fiddling without ripping the whole thing out. Turns out its not in teh dash, its just under the silver area of the Auto selector. the hint was the other day when it wouldnt go inot park. i reversed back a bit there was the "Sliding rattle" and it would go into park. whatever is down there occasionally blocks the lever... yeh great!

I popped the surround of the auto selector (it just lifts off) and listened while i was driving and it was definitely coming from down there , i could even feel the vibration thru my fingertips.

Interestingly theres a production sticker on the console panel marked "Barra Forte"

Gotta say my dash a has had a number of rattles since day 1 ( its nearly 7 months and 28,000km). and the dealer has failed to fix them, in fact they made them worse.
I think I have two choices, live with them or fix them myself.
