I am car shopping at the moment for a newer car. I saw an EF today for $10990 which I thought was pretty steep. It had 167,000k's, 16in mags and a spoiler. I test drove it and when I started it, it took a while to find idle and was a bit rough for a few mins do you think it just needs a service and tune up or is it more major? I know my mates EF wagon did something similar when the head gasket was blown.

The car looks well looked after, well it's immaculate really. I'm just a bit apprehensive to go further with those sort of k's on it. I was looking for something with <100,000k's. What do you guys think?

It has a small dent under the left hand tail light.

I'm looking for about $3500-$4000

So if anyone is interested let me know. I'd rather sell it to a member than trade it to a shonky car dealer. As much as I want to get rid of it, I still love it and would like it to go to a good home :)

My dad is selling his EF Futura for $9900. 162,000kms, immacculate, 1996 series 2 (dad bought it superseded when the first ELs came out), auto, airbag, cruise, etc etc.

Damn good car but I couldn't stand to have my folks always gripe at me: "wash the car! why are the tyres bald <j/k>? wash the car! service it every 500km! wash the car again!" blah blah blah...

Hence I got the EB.

The EF goes pretty hard. I reckon it'd give our BA a run for its money (the BA is the reason dad is selling the EF & it's a semi-company car, so that's why he didn't simply trade the EF. He traded the semi-company AU instead).
