I have had my XR for 6 weeks now and have just noticed that the door rubbers are getting a white tinge to them. I haven,t put anything on them etc to cause this, and I haven't tried anything to remove yet.
Has anyone else had this happen to them, and is there a solution??

Also of note, the rubber at the top of the doors (on the top side and the bottom side) gets a lot of dirt and grit in it.
Its a pain in the next with the water restrictions (as a good hosing would make this much easier), but I run a very damp cloth of em, get all the grit out, let it dry and go over with the armorall wipes. The wipes are pretty expensive compared to the spray, but far less messy. I've done this with all my cars and armor all does a pretty good job keeping the rubbers looking and feeling like new.
i dont mean to sound like a smart arse , but instead of buying the expensive wipes , why not just have a small peice of cloth or even better, foam and spray that to wipe the product on. :hy:

G'day,
note you are in Brisbane.....finally remembered to check my bottle...
Autoglym Rubber and plastic cleaner.
I cannot recomend it enough. I use it on my interior as well......excellant little known product....has a smell of its own, but not distastefull. it does however take some time to dry on plastics, but they ARE clean.
Use the polish method....wipe on with one rag, and wipe off with another.
for grained plastics...ie scuff plate, wipe on copiously, give a scuff a few minutes later with a nail brush and wipe off with a clean rag...... very little elbow grease required.
I have been using this product for a number of years, and for our cars it leaves the tried and trusted armour-all for dead.
does anyone have a problem with rubbers? my rear left door rubber keeps coming off.
