hey guys, got the windows re-tinted in the EB today. (had to remove the old film for regency)
took the car to United Windscreens on main north rd. got talking to the guy there, and he said he'll tint E-series members cars for $180, which i think is a pretty good price. they'll put any % tint on you want, legal or not.
When you call, ask for Lindsay, and say you are a member of the E-series car club. they take about three hours to do it, and they need a days notice.
please note that that price does not include removing old tint, thats a bit extra.
cheers,
Phil
i think they charged 80bux jack, which me and my mate did on his R31coupe at home inabout 2 hours, but it was fresh tint, he got defected for being too dark! all you need to do is pick at a corner then just rubb hot mater over it so the gluey shit softens up and then peel back then wash the window with a sponge and hot sopey water. saves 80bux or so.
im in, i want mirror tint, about 25% maybe 30% dont know yet.
Ehab

can someone just let me know what the legal tint% is and what one shade darker than that is in %.... i have legal tint on the back because it had to be done (went all bubbly and couldnt see out of it), the side tints look like they've been on for awhile, gone purply and just really worn in general...a mate at work said he has one shade darker then legal and there is quite a difference from my legal to his not legal...

Really you get away with 35% all round. Anything darker makes your car a target for a yellow sticker. Chris had 20% tint on his pimp NA fairlane, looked tough but would void insurance!

yeah my mate chris's bro's NA has like 15% mirror, unless all the windows are down you cant see through the back window because how dark it makes the rest of the interior. looks pimp.

so what would one shade darker than legal be? 30 or 25% all round?

One shade darker than legal is 32%, if you have a look at the tint on my car, it 'may' be one darker than legal, with a bit of a mirror finish to it as well.
Mirror tint etc. does cost more as well.
Is this place at Blair Athol?
