Just had a "A" service done on my AUIII, labor cost was $119.85, for what the book says is 48 minutes work. Is this the normal price, or a tad too high.
If $120/hour is normal, might start a ford service centre

Shit, in total a service usually costs me about 138 bucks, unless its a major one with brakes etc. But for a general lube etc it shouldnt cost anymore then $140 i dont think.
Just a standard "A" service, all usual inspections and checks.
Fitted new wiper inserts added injector clean to fuel system, strange that in its self, 'cause the motor is dedicated gas, HTF do they put it in
Yeah seems a bit steep to me.
They have a modern upto date workshop, so no problems with hoists.

$916 later for a "Service".
This car is a well maintained 2002 execcutive

An "A" service on an AUIII has a service book time of .8 of an hour.Is the $119.85 the total cost or just the labour. If it's just labour then i would queery it with the dealer.Even Metro dealers don't have a labour rate that high.

Yeah labour only, parts were extra, and no GST so really labour with GST would be $130 plus
Shit this seems HIGH

Well I queried the costs, and they said they would get back to me.
When I rang again four days later they said that the extra cost was for removing and cleaning the gas condenser thingy, so OK i said, then checked under the bonnet, and shit they did a good job, even put all the dust and dirt back on it after they had finished No way did they remove it, but what can I say now. If they do get my next service, I'll be out in the workshop watching every move they make.
