XC Coupe 78

Hi all

Has anybody had any problems with manual transmissions in the coupes in relation to difficulty changing gears? I find that the automatic T-bar is far away as it is from the driver, and i have to lean in almost to shift. Is this the same with the manual trans? is the shifter at the same position as with the auto or is it closer to the driver? I'm a short person so i doubt everybody has had this problem but i have heard people comment that the shifter is far away from the driver.

Manual shifters in the same position. I am about 5'8" and have no issues changing gears in a manual coupe. I got to drive one to and from Wodonga

Yep, manual is the same, a bit of a stretch for 1st gear.

They werent thinking of everyone when they designed those cars...Looks like i'll be pulling the seat forward.

By the way, can anybody verify this legend: Henry Ford built the 351 engine to 351 cubic inches becuase it was 351 steps from his house to the ford factory. Apparently this is true.

Henry Ford died in 1947, i do not think the cleveland 351 was around at that time.
