confused Some help for a newbie ford person!

Hey guys i own a V6 VP commy atm basicly with cai, 65 mil throt body, hi flo cat & exhaust. I am now trying to decide weather i should buy a ford or not. I am sick of beaing beatean buy my mate in his EB (STOKEB). I have been talking MR STOKEB about buying an EB-ED auto falcon. Is it tru that you cant get shift kits for these autos like you can on the holdens? What kind of 1/4 mile times will a stock EB-ED 6 cyl falcon run? How well do they respond to mods? is it worth going a 5 spd instead of the auto? and finaly what is a stock eb-ed falcon worth ( i dont want electrics or nuthing like thatjust the base modle)? any help that you can give will be appreciated thanks alot

Jason

Re: Some help for a newbie ford person!

You have come to the right place and welcome :D

STOKEB's car is hardly stock!

You are welcome down to a club meet to see how other EA-D cars go. There is more to a car than speed. Look for style and drivability.

The auto's can be modified to shift firm and hard for realitively low price. Or a manual conversion, if you don't mind cog changing, is an option that most in the E-series club have researched.

Not sure how much mod's the I6 computer can take. But I know alot go cam, exhaust, cold air, etc. Without new ECU.

If you're after out right pace, then the 5 speed would deffinately be the way to go.
Might take a bit of time to find one that is exactly what you're after though.

LOL - thats the laugh of the day - who wouldnt be beaten by him.

While we will always promote the Ford on here after all, but if you sink alot more time and money into your holden I am sure you will be be able to beat him, I would consider a supercharger :0)

Re: Some help for a newbie ford person!

Welcome aboard matey, a VP with equivalent mods should be a bit faster due to less weight, though manual is always a big advantage. The stock auto Fords are not very fast... mid to high 16s is the norm.
