Well this has only happened in the last week. Sometimes when i have been on idle i put the gear into D and it stalls, and when it is idle the revs are very weird it will go loud, then quite then loud then normal.. this does not happen all the time but lately very often. i dont think that my car has had a service for about 10000km is it due for one and are these the symtoms of not getting the car serviced ???

what should servicing include ?? and how much ??

i never have any revs or stalling problems when im driving or have stopped at an intersection and still in drive with the brakes on. it is only been in P and N

Check all your electrical connections, especially earths. If they are loose, the voltage changes will play havoc with the electronics. I had same problem and found that my main earth was loose on the engine block, cleaned and tightened it along with the battery clamps and body earth. And it has eliminated the stalling problem. No use to start messing with senders and sensors till you can guarantee a constant voltage to the whole system.

While you are down at the engine block motor mount bolts check all six bolts on both sides of the engine, mine were all loose.

Get it serviced, its about due. Ours used to stall all the time in drive sitting at the lights on really cold lights, timing was out, had shit sparkplugs, clogged filters, list goes on.
