Steering wheel issue

Having a hassle with my steering wheel when my car is parked in the open in hot weather. Sticky black stuff oozes out of the perforations in the leather of the wheel. The top of the steering wheel is sun affected, the leather has hardened and discoloured a bit at the top. It's been like this since I've had the car but the black stuff is a recent phenomenon.

Knox Ford quoted $750 for a new wheel (yeah, right!!) and a motor trimmer has quoted $350 to put new leather on but this won't guarantee the ooze will stop. The guy seems to think the rubbery material under the leather is breaking down.

Any suggestions, or does anyone have a wheel to sell at a reasonable price??

Here's a pic of the ooze:

And a pic of the car itself:

Thanks.....

PS, first attempt to attach pics, hope it works..........

Thats weird dude !

The leather is held to the wheel by the stitching, but to stop the leather from twisting they probably used glue, which now happens to be breaking down and oozing out through the peforations.

I'd go and get the dealers head, and rub his nose into it so that he knows exactly how you feel. Bloody Ford.
