OK so when we decided on the XR series We went for the upgraded Stereo Colour screen, sub woofer, effects. Not sure now if it was th right choice. I thought it would be with the DOOF DOOF type of Sub, and the screen would have more colour than blue and black.
Did I get dudded, am I missing the switch that turns it into the premium stereo I thought I was getting?
I think for the extra money you could aftermarket yourself a really nice setup.
Dont get me wrong, Its loud, its clear and its a six stacker. But is it really that good?

What you have is the correct premium sound system with the colour screen. It's not a lairy, doof, doof screen that's trying to incuce an epileptic fit out of the driver, it's bold and clear in it's display, with nice, big text. This is not your PC desktop, crowded with so much stuff you can never find anything.

And you made the right choice. The premium setup is the way to go. Upgrade the speakers if you want, or even bypass the sytem and and a new head unit and amp, but you can't get rid of it, so the colour screen is nice to have, plus you get the wiring for the footwell lampls, just need to buy the bulbs and your right to go.

Thats one of the reasons I didn't get the premium sound. The colour screen would have come in handy so that I could hook a dvd player up to it but at the end of the day im not going to be watching dvd's in my car anyway. I spent the money more wisely.

I have to say, I'm 'underwhelmed' at sound from the Premium Sound in my BA XR8. The mid-bass is just plain missing. What speaker upgrades have people done to improve the sound when sitting in the front?
