Sunroof Information

Hey Peoples!

Was wondering if someone could shed some light into the factory sunroof of the barra.

Is the sunroof actually cut on the production line or is it cut later at FPV or some other place?

The reason I ask is I want a sunroof which is not merely cut with the sides merely covered by black rubber sealing which in turn makes it more prone to rust. Plus it is more attractive (well to me anyways) to have a metal actually 'rolled' rather than a thick black strip around it.

Photos much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jon

They arnt rolled, like previously mentioned, they are cut (rather crudely) at FPV.

If you want a car with a decent sunroof installation, you'll have to go to BMW, Merc etc

or reading on the XR6 turbo forums, get the sunroof done after getting the car. Its exactly the same, but pay a bit extra and get the metal rolled.

i got rolled guards on my car, but i dont think its anything to worry about if it doesnt have this feature.

Thanks for your help guys!
Much appreciated.

The dealer was pushing on me getting an after market sun roof rather than the factory installed one. So I was wondering why - aprt from the fact they prolly get a better commission.

what did you end up doing? I ordered from the factory for the very reason you posted your info.
I also fiqure, the car has a five year corrosion warranty, so given the roof is factory this comes into play too.
