Superbirds (again)

Hello from Scotland,

I know that this topic has been discussed before (I have been through the search facility) but does anyone know how many Superbirds were produced ?

I have heard 400, and I have heard 750, but, being as how there were only 4409 XA hardtops produced in total in 1973, 750 Superbirds would seem pretty high as a proportion.

Any help appreciated.

All the best
Sandy

P.S. Any information on colour split between the three schemes, or manual/automatic ?

Re: Superbirds (again)

Hi Sandy,

According to FPV

"Released in May 1973 with a $112 premium over the standard Hardtop, the limited edition (500 autos, 200 manuals)"

Cheers
Matt

Re: Superbirds (again)

i have a cosmic blue superbird. i also heard the 700 figure, 200 manuals 500 autos.

the three colour schemes were white/blue, orange/brown and green/green. apparently they were produced in equal numbers of each colours. i heard all the green went to vic, the white/blue to nsw and the orange to qld

if you want any more info email me at ibrooks@walturn.com.au
