hi guys (& girls)..just wondering if any-one out there knows much about mick webb (i know that he was alan moffet's head machanic during his bathurst days)..we are buying his svo ba xr8 ute..any imformation on his work (for our own curiosity) would be appreciated

i have never delt with him myself but his name has allways been around in the street machine circles , usually associated with some high class show and performance cars ,
i can remember a blue XY pro stock street/show car that he built in the eighties that was a bit of a trend setter for things to come.
i have only heard his name mentioned with respect so that is a good start i guess.

I had an XBGT coupe some years ago with one of his engines in it and boy did it go hard, never had any issue with it and would not hesitate to use his expertise again!Good luck with the ute, i may see you guys up at Albury again, Hows your dog going??

I started out as a customer of Mick and now I know him reasonably well. I'd rate his work as being as good as anyone (and better than most). I feel confident that he wont rip me off and he has a lot of real engineering knowledge.

His competition history starts with Bib Stillwell, goes through the Moffat Mustang, Phase 3 GTHOs and the 1977(?) Bathurst 1-2, Moffats RX7, HQ racing, Auscar and Nascar, Holden Group A in Europe and he is now involved with the A1 GP series. Been involved with Brock, Richards, Moffat, Harvey, Bartlett, etc. And he set up SVO as well. Look for him under "team": http://australia.a1gp.com/

There was an article on the ute about a year or two ago in Unique Cars (it had a white Jag Mk2 fitted with a modern Jag V8 on the cover).

I think that the blue pro-street XY that 351cid is referring to was built by the talented panel beater Owen Webb not Mick Webb.
