Hi all,

I know the TL is based on a Fairlane, but what are the actual differences between a TE50 and a TS50?

With Series 1 and series 2 the TS and TE 50 both shared the upper spec fairmont interior, in series 1 the TE got 200kw and was avaliable in auto and manual, while the TS got 220kw and was avaliable as auto only, however both got the same motor in S2 and both were avaliable in auto and manual

In S3 the TE was downgraded to futura spec interior(low series dash/no climate control etc), while the TS retained the fairmont spec interior.

There will be more, I just can't think of them now

This particular TS50 is the 5.6 Litre version (didn't realise they were rated at this), with 250Kw (cross drilled rotors, etc.). I also looked at a TE50 in Blueprint, both being series 3 I believe.

The 5.6 was a stroked 5.0 and only available in S3. By the time S3 came around, the TS50 was far better value than the Futura based TE50 although this situation was reversed for S1.

Russ what did a TS50 retail for when it was a current model? I am pretty sure the TE50 was 57g's for manual and 58g's for auto. Plus onroads.

TS50 S3 had an RRP of $67k although way too many of them were fitted with the Brembo package which added another $6k or so.
