Is there such a model as a 1970 XW Falcon 600?
and did it consist of a 460 big block?
I am looking for a street machine and came across a sales ad for one.
apparenty it is as they have the origional papers, i am not real sure and really dont want to blow that kind of money on a mock, so if there is a hint of truth or any one knows of such a thing please let me know.
also has a c6 in it... just doesnt sound origional!
Never heard of one. They never did one with a 460/C6 combo. There only car that would fit that description (but it had a 429 in it) was Bill Burkes Falcon that was built in th U.S for him, other than that i would say it is just somthing they have put together.
i kinda (just) remember something about some of the old X-series having 600 badges instead of 500 badges. i think they were exports too. could have gone to places like the middle east possibly or somewhere around there. there once was a thread here about them so it might be time to go mining.
also i believe some of the export fairmonts (possibly coupes) were badged as 'FAIRMONT GT' too.
cant help with the engine though sorry.

It is possible that it could just be a South African Vehicle where the XW's and XY's were exported to South Africa and were realeased as the Fairmont GT's and had very little differences to our GT's. I know nothing of the "normal" XW's and XY's that were released there, altho a factory bigblock is somehow something we should have heard about before. It is possible it could have been a dealer option were the dealer just stuck a big block in it, I've heard that happened in a few places here in australia, but only with the falcon coupes. Might be time to get those south african phone numbers out.
just spoke with owner, couldnt get vin number! sus, or engine number even more sus!
the engine has absolutly no engine number at all!!! so stating origional in an advert is not entirely correct.
the motor leans to 1 side and i have heard that it is quite hard to squeeze a C6 into those models... all sounds like this would never have come out of fords factory!
yeah, nahh man i have droped it, it was origionally a 6 cyl and had fairmont interior, all the origional interior was taken out and the bigblock and c6 put in... not the car for me.
The 600 does exist. I have read about it on her ebefore and remember seeing photos of badges on one of them older falcons. They had the same font n everything as the other badges too. Bit of a mystery ay...
