Third seat conversion for AUII XR ute?

G'day all, does anyone know of any offerings out there of this type of seating conversion? Seat suitable for a small child between the two bucket seats.
Cheers
Bill.

Falcon wagons came out with a front bench seat option. I would imagine that it uses the standard seat bolts to the floor etc. Perhaps your local Ford dealer could help out?

Chop up the console and put a centre seat & belt from a column shift ute in. But you would need to get an engineers certificate so its legal.

Re: Third seat conversion for AUII XR ute?

Hi Fordjeepman, my Au xr2 ute had a third seat fitted in it when I bought it all thay did was cut up the console where the seat starts, its a basic covered seat but looks professional and has seat belt etc. the problem over here though is it had to be approved by the Land Transport Authority here in NZ for compliance, the actual seat cost $250 to make and install but the front bums charged the previous owner $800 for a compliance plate that sits in the engine bay before they would give him a warrant of fitness, hopefully you guys haven't got such stupid rules as we have here, wish we lived closer I'd swap with you as mine is rarely used and would rather have the console but cant find one for love or money, as the car one is different so the wreckers tell me.

Re: Third seat conversion for AUII XR ute?

Thanks for the replies guys, It is not an urgent matter but sometimes it would be nice to be able to have the three of us (family) in the ute as a 1.6 auto Pulsar is a big step down when we go out.If I go down down the third seat option or find some concrete info I will post it on the board, thanks again,
Cheers
Bill.
