The time has finally come...

to sell the old girl! It's been a good year of owning the old EA, had alot of memories both good and bad (more bad than good) and spent alot of money on the damned thing. I've now figured I'd be better off cutting my loses and getting into a newer car while I have the money to afford to do so.

My mind isnt totally made up on what I want to buy next and I'm not going to rush into it and I will take my time buying the next one. I've decided I want an XR6 or a Fairmont, depends on what is out there. I've had a look at a few EF XR6's and I can say they've been growing on me very quickly. I've also seen a really nice ED XR6 that I totally fell in love with till I found out it was an auto. I'm hopefully gonna have around $12k to play with so we'll wait and see what I can dig up!

Re: The time has finally come...

If you can't decide between a Fairmont or XR6, I would recommend having a look at an EFII or EL Fairmont Ghia. Luxury galore, with the XR6 engine and diff. If you look hard and long enough you could probably find a nice one for around 12 grand. Good luck with the car hunting.

Hey Ed, why not swap the gearboxes from your GL into the ED (if you brought it?)

Re: The time has finally come...

Well the plan is to sell the car and pay off the credit card with what I get for the car so I can't really hang onto the car till I buy a new car, and the fact the car is worthless means it'll hold more value with the 5 speed in it. And with the next car I dont wanna start ripping things out and doing conversions, I'm gonna buy exactly what I want from the start, it may take longer to find what I want but atleast the whole car will be genuine.

Re: The time has finally come...

Yes true. When i brought my GL i had to change EVERYTHING over to ghia stuff. If i had brought a ghia (prolly coulda got one at the same price as the GL) I could have gotten straight into the performance mods...

Re: The time has finally come...

haha I don't to sound mean or harsh in anyway but Brent is a good example of why you shouldn't buy something that looks good at the time and then convert everything to how you want it, you end up spending a complete shitload more than you need too

Re: The time has finally come...

For some people its not the money, but the fun they have spending the time upgrading the car, and watching it get better as they keep working on it..

other people prefer to just get in and drive it how it is!

whatever floats your boat i say, good luck finding a new car dude.
