Ive been switching the TC off lately as I was getting clunky sounds from the rear and there gone now. Is this gonna be a problem, I can feel more power at full throttle which is why I bought the damm turbo anyway?

The clunking sound you were hearing was probably normal traction control operation.When wheel spin is detected the system will automatically apply brake pressure to the offending wheel stopping it from spinning.Engine torque is also reduced by the PCM by cutting fuel and ignition to one or more cylinders.When all this takes place the vehicle can make some horrendous noises.

I now drive the xr8 with traction off 100% of the time!

Was caught once going through a round about when traction retarded engine enough to slow car and nearly cause an accident!
