Re: trip computer for ea

trip computer can be wired up to work easily enough but the climate control requires pulling out the dash and changing the heater box and loom's/ sensors relevant for the climate control.... big job.

its 8 point and only has 4 wire in it for the clock. you need to get the 12 pin plug for the trip computer and i think there is about 9-10 wires which need plugging in. 3 go to the cluster and 1 to the ECU, the rest go where the clock wires are.

Re: trip computer for ea

yes, you just need to run a extra wire for the tacho and replace the oil pressure switch with an oil pressure sender unit.

here's a thread which i wrote the wires for the trip computer.tripcomputer wiring help

there sould also be a thread on how to add the wire for the spack cluster too. just do a search.

in a word, YES. the only difference in computers is that there were CFI manuals/3 speed auto's, MPFI manual's 3 speed autos and CFI 4 speed auto, MPFI 4 speed auto. he might be thinking of the EB2/ED XR6 computer which wont work in an EA anyway.

well, yes but requires a lot of rewiring and wire adding. if you want all this then your better off getting a damaged EA Ghia from the auctions and putting it all in as they can be bought for as cheap as chips now.
