I have installed a trip computer into my EB1 S XR8 (07/91) from a very late EB11 6cyl (was a black T/C but not sure of year) with no probs, thanks to the previous posts here ! (BTW - the V8 has same output for the trip computer and is same readings for 6 or

Only thing that annoys me is the display is too bright at night.. I havent connected up the "dimmer" wire, as others have noted it doesnt exist in the S.... Any ideas on how to make it dimmer, preferably to dim with the "2 stage" dimming of the dash lights ??

Thats sounds strange too me, maybe replace the bulb with a lower watt one??? Not sure bud..

I have installed one to,Iam afraid you will have to live with it as the donour car has the dimmer funtion built into the instrument cluster.Same goes for the warning when oil pressure light comes on e.t.c.The only things that will bip will be at 80km till empty,60,40,20 and when you leave your lights on.

Hey luke, i have the ghia digital dash and ive not seen any dimmer wire from it, only the warning light wire. Isnt this dimmer wire connected to the central controller in ghia models? I also dont see why u guys have an extra bright display... mine appears quite dim....?!?!

Well I don't know for sure Brent but I do know that it was either in the cluster or in later models the BEM I'l have a look and get back to ya.
