Unibar Fitted

Just fitted a Unibar to the front of my BA XT.
It took around 1.5hrs to fit, with two long bolts on the top and a plate on the inside of the bumber.
The bottom has four 3inch tec screws running in to the steel reinforcement behind the bumper bar.
Well be getting a couple Narva 180mm lights next week.

Re: Unibar Fitted

The light force are a good light for sure but at the moment i have a bid on e-bay for the narvas at $82.00 the set.
The bottom grill is still there but the grasshoppers are destroying the radiator so this is just a quick fix for now as ford have no bug screens for the BAs.

Re: Unibar Fitted

New gearbox next week to fix the clunk when chaning gears.
I think its the diff as it clunks even when making a sharp turn, but if they wont to fit a new gearbox first will thats find by me.
The car has always been good its been the dealership and getting warranty work done the main problem.
The tyres are stuffed with only 17000km on them but ford dont make the tyres.
Going to Perth next month to get a set of Falken ZE-326 fitted as they are none directional so i can change them around at home.
Keep an eye on your power steering pump high pressure line as mine is starting to leak near the oil filter.
My mates XR6T hose blew out and the pump locked up.

Re: Unibar Fitted

Why is it that Ford don't have insect screens like the Holdens? They work real well on the Holden setup.

Just fitted the Narva lights on to the Unibar and it looks ok to me, whole job cost a little under $190.

Dave, I just started driving mine today and I get that clunk sometimes between gear changes. It happens on XR8 and FPV vehicles as well so I guess it's what you call a standard feature on the manual v8's!

AP, I use a bit of fly screen on my ute. When I took my ute in for its first service I got the lower grill put in and when the service manager spotted the screen in front of the radiator he said Ford did'nt like anything at all that could prevent air from coming into the radiator. I said what would they say if it came in with insects and grasshoppers plastered all over the radiator, don't drive on any country highways!!

Couple of pics after I came back from North Western NSW.

Looks ok to me too Davo, you don't realise how much you miss a good set of driving lights untill you head out on those country highways.

Re: Unibar Fitted

Tyres stuffed after only 17,000k's!!!! I've just hit 25,000 and the tyres still have close to 50% tread left.
